JESP Gases is a well-established, family-run business that has proudly served customers for over 36 years. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a hardworking and reliable Delivery Driver / Factory Operative to join our experienced team.
This is a varied role involving customer deliveries, manual handling and assisting with factory duties when required.
Please Note
- This role involves heavy manual handling.
- Some gas cylinders weigh up to 40kg.
- Applicants must be physically capable of carrying out the duties safely.
- Applicants must be 25 years of age or over due to our commercial vehicle insurance requirements.
Main Responsibilities
- Deliver gas cylinders and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Complete approximately 20–30 customer deliveries per day, delivering between 30 and 100 cylinders.
- Load and unload vehicles safely.
- Follow planned delivery routes and schedules.
- Maintain accurate delivery records.
- Operate company vehicles safely and in accordance with all road traffic legislation.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
- Use company equipment, including mobile devices and satellite navigation systems.
- Assist with warehouse and factory operations when required.
- Provide excellent customer service and represent JESP Gases professionally.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence.
- Excellent driving record.
- Good knowledge of UK road safety regulations.
- Physically fit and able to carry out regular heavy lifting.
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
- Previous multi-drop delivery experience.
- Previous warehouse or industrial experience.
- Experience within the gas industry (not essential as training will be provided).
