Due to continued business growth, we're looking for an experienced Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer to join our in-house design team based in Hull.
This is an office-based role with occasional site visits, offering the opportunity to lead mechanical building services projects from initial concept through to completion. You'll work closely with clients, consultants and internal teams to deliver high-quality, energy-efficient design solutions across a range of commercial, industrial and retail projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design of building services projects from concept to handover.
- Produce HVAC designs, calculations, specifications, schematics and technical documentation.
- Coordinate designs with multidisciplinary teams to ensure fully integrated solutions.
- Ensure all designs comply with current regulations, industry standards and client requirements.
- Attend client meetings, site surveys and project reviews as required.
- Incorporate sustainable and low-carbon technologies into project designs.
- Support and mentor junior engineers while maintaining excellent client relationships.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in Mechanical Building Services Design with a strong HVAC background.
- Essential experience in air movement and ventilation design.
- Experience delivering projects within commercial, industrial or retail environments.
- Proficient with Revit, AutoCAD and mechanical design/calculation software.
- Good knowledge of UK Building Regulations and current industry standards.
- Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
