This is a full time permanent role with attendance at our head office in Widnes required at least once a week so our ideal candidate will be based within an hours commute of Widnes.

As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you'll play a pivotal role in helping the organisation understand performance, identify trends, predict future demand, and uncover opportunities for improvement.
Working closely with stakeholders across the charity, you'll gather requirements, develop innovative reporting solutions, and deliver high-quality analysis that influences decision-making at every level. You'll also help shape our evolving data architecture and ensure our reporting environment remains robust, secure, and fit for the future.

What you'll be doing:
- Partnering with stakeholders to understand reporting and analytical requirements.
- Collecting, analysing, interpreting and presenting complex data to a variety of audiences.
- Developing insightful dashboards, reports and analytical solutions using Power BI.
- Providing ad-hoc analysis to support business decision-making.
- Maintaining and improving existing reporting and BI solutions.
- Acting as a data steward, ensuring data quality and integrity.
- Supporting the development and maintenance of enterprise data models.
- Creating Power BI Dataflows, Datamarts and other self-service BI solutions.
- Administering the organisation's Power BI Service environment.
- Implementing appropriate security and governance controls within BI solutions.
- Supporting system implementations and helping ensure data and reporting requirements are embedded from day one.
- Staying up to date with emerging Microsoft technologies and BI best practice.
What we’re looking for:
You'll be a curious and analytical thinker who enjoys turning data into actionable insight. You will be comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels and explaining technical concepts in a clear and engaging way.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science or a related subject OR equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a Business Intelligence, Data Analyst or similar role.
- Strong experience with: Microsoft Power BI, Power Query, DAX, SQL
- Experience developing reports from relational, transactional or data warehouse environments.
- Excellent understanding of data transformation, modelling and reporting principles.
- Experience using data to drive service improvement and operational performance.
- Basic knowledge of Data Warehousing
- Understanding of GDPR and data governance best practice.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable:
- Relevant Microsoft, SQL or Power BI certifications.
- Experience within social care, HR, recruitment or a regulated environment.
- Knowledge of machine learning or AI-based analytical techniques.
- Experience administering Power BI Service.
