Birling House offers residential care to adults with physical and neurological conditions specialising in Huntington’s Disease.
We are looking for a skilled, enthusiastic and dedicated person, with previous experience in a kitchen environment, to join our kitchen team.
We are currently looking for a Kitchen Assistant to work 12 shifts per 4 week rota
Max of two weekends per rota period to be worked
Shift times 7.00am - 6.00pm.
The role includes;
- Preparing meals for residents & staff to order, ensuring safe and accurate preparation of specialised textured foods where required.
- Providing hot and cold drinks for residents, ensuring they are the correct consistencies.
- Provide catering for social occasions e.g. parties, fetes etc.
- Ensuring an exceptional standard of hygiene is maintained throughout the kitchen at all times.
- Completing regular checks and records. e.g temperature checks, cleaning schedules etc.
We are looking for candidates who are kind and caring with a compassionate approach, have the ability to communicate and interact well with residents and other staff members, and can demonstrate empathy and understanding of the needs of our residents.
Kitchen experience is required. Care Home experience is preferred, but not essential as full training will be provided.
An enhanced DBS check (paid for by the employer) and references will also be required once a position has been offered.
