Gas & Heating Engineer (Plumbing & Heating) — Nottingham | £40,000–£45,000+ Van & Fuel Card
Up to £45,000+ depending on experience, company van and fuel card, paid door-to-door travel, and 28 days' holiday. Miller Freeman is a well-established Nottingham-based plumbing and heating company delivering high-quality domestic and commercial work across Nottinghamshire and the surrounding areas.
Due to continued growth, we're looking for an experienced, motivated Gas & Heating Engineer to join our team. This is a varied role covering both heating and plumbing, so we're after someone who enjoys the mix — confident on boilers and heating, but equally happy rolling up their sleeves for day-to-day plumbing maintenance. If you like variety, take pride in your workmanship, and want to join a company that invests in its people, we'd like to hear from you.
The Role
You'll handle a broad range of heating and plumbing work, including:
- Boiler servicing and annual gas safety inspections
- Boiler and heating system breakdowns, fault finding and repairs
- Boiler and heating system installations and replacements
- Heating system upgrades and controls
- General domestic plumbing repairs and maintenance
- Replacing taps, toilets, valves and sanitaryware
- Hot and cold water system repairs
- Radiator replacements and heating system alterations
- Emergency and reactive call-outs
- Giving customers professional advice and support
The focus is heating and gas, but general plumbing maintenance is a genuine part of the day-to-day, so you'll need to be happy taking it on as readily as the heating work.
What We're Looking For
You will:
- Be an experienced Domestic Gas Engineer, confident servicing, repairing and installing heating systems
- Be genuinely happy carrying out general plumbing repairs and maintenance — not just boiler work
- Have strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Be organised, professional and customer-focused
- Take pride in delivering high-quality workmanship
- Work well both independently and as part of a team
- Have excellent communication skills with customers and colleagues
- Be reliable, flexible and willing to support the wider team
Essential Requirements
- Gas Safe registered
- Current ACS qualifications: CCN1, CENWAT, CPA1, CKR1, HTR1
- Full UK driving licence
- Minimum 3 years' experience in the domestic gas industry
- Strong knowledge of domestic heating and hot water systems
- Good all-round domestic plumbing knowledge, able to carry out reactive plumbing repairs without supervision
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in occupied homes
Desirable Requirements
- Unvented Hot Water qualification (G3)
- LPG qualification
- Plumbing qualification (NVQ Level 2 or 3)
- Experience with smart heating controls or renewable technologies such as heat pumps
- Energy Efficiency qualification
What We Offer
- £40,000–£45,000+ per year depending on experience
- Paid door-to-door travel
- Company van and fuel card
- Company tablet and mobile phone
- 28 days' paid holiday including bank holidays
- Company pension scheme
- Ongoing manufacturer and industry training
- Career progression within a growing, ambitious company
- A supportive, professional working environment
We're looking for people who share our commitment to exceptional workmanship and outstanding customer service.
Pay: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
