Smart Tiles - is a family run retail business with an excellent reputation that has been established for over 25 years. Based in Kendal, we are the largest stockist of Tiles and Wood Flooring in Cumbria.
The company prides itself on delivering a first class experience for all of our customers.
We require an experienced and enthusiastic person to join the team working in our busy inspirational showroom. The position would ideally suit a person with previous experience working in a showroom/trade counter environment, preferable in the interiors sector i.e. Tiles, Kitchens, Bathrooms, Carpets and Flooring etc.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly, advise to help and inspire them to choose the best product for there requirements from our extensive range.
- Processing sales invoices.
- Listening to the customers requirements, which could involve helping with a small purchase or advising for a large project.
- Assist customers with product selections, answer queries, and process sales transactions efficiently
- Maintain visual merchandising standards within the showroom to promote products effectively
- Support stock management by receiving deliveries, organising stock storage, and conducting regular inventory checks
- Prepare orders for dispatch, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Keep the showroom clean, organised, and presentable at all times
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts or pallet trucks (training provided)
- Collaborate with team members to ensure excellent customer service and operational efficiency
- Process payments and carry out general sales administration duties.
- Checking goods in and out. Scheduling deliveries.
- Help load customer vehicles with their chosen items and Carry out delivery's in company vehicle.
Attributes Required
Boxes of tiles are very heavy and require substantial strength and a disciplined lifting technique.
A team player.
Friendly and enjoy talking to and meeting new people.
Punctual and presentable is a must.
Honest and reliable.
Have a decent standard of Math & English and be computer literate.
Able to deal with both trade and retail customers.
A strong work ethic with the ability to use own initiative.
We are seeking a motivated and personable Showroom Sales & Warehouse Person to join our dynamic team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in both customer service and warehouse operations within a professional environment.
- Previous experience in retail sales is advantageous; training will be provided
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly and professional manner
- Organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively
- Physically fit, capable of lifting (boxes of tiles)goods and standing for extended periods
- Must have a valid driving licence.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
