Priory Hospital Bristol has an opportunity for a Ward Manager to join our team on our mixed Acute Ward. We have an exciting opportunity to join our brand-new mixed acute ward at Priory Bristol. Priory Hospital Bristol, Stapleton, Bristol is a specialist mental health and addiction treatment service for individuals, families and couples. It provides fast access to treatment for a range of psychiatric conditions and addictions. It is accessible by public transport, with local bus routes serving Stapleton and Bristol Parkway railway station approximately 2–3 miles from the hospital.

As Ward Manager, you will provide effective leadership and oversight of the ward, ensuring safe staffing, appropriate skill mix and effective rota management. You will lead the nursing team through supervision, appraisal, CPD and mandatory training, while promoting a culture of learning, professionalism and continuous improvement. You will ensure the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care, with clear care planning, effective discharge planning, physical and mental healthcare, medicines management and compliance with the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and relevant legislation. You will oversee clinical governance, incident and complaint investigations, risk management, audits and quality improvement, ensuring accurate communication and record keeping. You will also lead recruitment and retention, build strong relationships across the MDT, promote equality and diversity, and ensure the ward operates safely and effectively. Where required, you will deputise for the Director of Clinical Services.

Essential for the role
- Be currently registered with the Nursing Midwifery Council as a first level nurse or with the Health and Care Professions Council
- At least 2 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity within a relevant care setting. Appropriate registration or experience required for the ward
- RMN and RNLD qualified
