Job Role Description: Internal Account Manager

Role Purpose
The Internal Account Manager is responsible for managing and developing relationships with existing customers, ensuring a high level of service while identifying opportunities to grow revenue within the account base. The role is integral to the sales function and plays a key part in delivering commercial targets and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of existing customer accounts, acting as the primary point of contact
- Build strong, long-term relationships to encourage repeat business and customer loyalty
- Process customer quotations, and enquiries accurately and efficiently
- Proactively identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities across the product range
- Work closely with all members of the sales team to support account growth strategies
- Liaise with internal departments (e.g., operations, logistics, finance) to ensure smooth order fulfilment
- Monitor customer activity and follow up on dormant or lapsed accounts
- Handle customer issues or complaints professionally, ensuring timely resolution
- Maintain accurate records and produce regular reports on account performance

Experience & Qualifications
- Previous experience in an account management, sales support, or customer service role
- Experience within a B2B environment (preferably in cleaning products, retail sales, or similar sectors) is advantageous
- Proven ability to meet targets and deliver excellent customer service

- Revenue growth within existing accounts

- Conversion rate of enquiries to sales
- Response and resolution times for customer queries
- Accuracy of data and customer communication
Reporting Structure
- Reports to: Commercial Director
- Direct Reports: None
Working Relationships
- Internal: Sales team, operations, logistics, finance, procurement
- External: Customers, suppliers (where relevant)

- May require occasional support for external sales or customer visits
- Standard working hours, with flexibility based on business needs
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
