Our investment business unit is a key component of our consulting services and firmly established as a UK market leader. We currently advise on over ~ £200 billion of assets for a diverse client base, providing full investment consulting services to DB pension trustees and sponsors across a wide variety of business and industry sectors, as well as local government pension schemes and other public sector clients.
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join this department as a Data & Reporting Specialist on a full time in one of our four offices.
What will your role look like?
As a Data and Reporting Specialist, you will be part of a growing, multi-disciplinary team responsible for delivering and continually enhancing investment data and reporting services across our Investment business unit. Working collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders across the business, you will use your analytical skills to produce high-quality insights and reporting that help drive positive outcomes for clients and the wider business.
Though this is a varied role, your key tasks will include:
-
Collaborating with client-facing colleagues to deliver high-quality investment reporting for a range of clients.
-
Compiling and analysing market, manager and client investment data, while supporting ad-hoc data and reporting requests.
-
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date information across internal spreadsheets and databases relating to investment markets, managers and client portfolios.
-
Using tools such as Microsoft Excel to source, analyse and present data, helping to provide meaningful insights to stakeholders across the business.
-
Contributing to the development and continuous improvement of data and reporting products and services.
To enjoy and succeed in this role, you will have:
-
Experience working with numerical data and performing calculations.
-
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
-
Educated to GCSE / Scottish Standard level (or equivalent) in Maths, or able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
-
An understanding of, or interest in, Power BI and data analysis would be advantageous.
-
Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
-
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
-
Confidence to challenge constructively and communicate clearly when required.
-
The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
-
A collaborative approach, with a willingness to contribute and support team success.
Please note that as part of the recruitment process for this opportunity, candidates will be expected to complete a Microsoft Excel activity.
We would also encourage applications from candidates who perhaps do not possess all the attributes and experience listed above but are competent with the majority and would be able to quickly develop the additional skills and experience required in post with our full support. We would also love to hear about other knowledge and experience you may have that is not listed but could be of interest.
In addition to a competitive salary and access to our profit share scheme, we offer:
-
A flexible selection of employee benefits, so you can choose a package that best matches your lifestyle and needs.
-
A collaborative and encouraging work environment where your thinking and ideas are encouraged.
-
On site mental health and wellbeing assistance.
-
A commitment to helping you develop both personally and professionally, with mentoring opportunities and access to our award-winning learning portal, Aspire.
-
Regular social activities, in addition to three days paid volunteering leave each year and a day’s leave to celebrate your birthday.
-
Hybrid working so you can enjoy the positive wellbeing of working from home as well as the benefits of meeting colleagues in our sociable, modern office environments – with the expectation of two ‘in-office’ days per week.
- A flexible working window, allowing colleagues the freedom to work flexibly between the hours of 7am and 7pm.
Please note, we recruit on a rolling basis so early applications are recommended to avoid disappointment.
We are committed to being open and transparent in our recruitment and reward processes. Please note that this vacancy does not currently meet the minimum salary threshold requirements for Skilled Worker sponsorship within the UK.
To avoid any disappointment, if you require sponsorship we would encourage you to check whether you may be eligible for a discounted salary threshold, or to explore alternative routes to secure your right to work in the UK before submitting your application. If you meet the criteria outlined in the job description we’ll be happy to discuss your individual circumstances further with you.
