Due to continued company growth, we are recruiting a Bandsaw / Yard Operative to join our busy production team. The successful candidate will have experience operating a forklift truck and overhead crane and be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Job
The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of workshop and yard duties, including:
- Operating a horizontal bandsaw to accurately cut steel sections and materials to specification.
- Loading and unloading steel stock, fabricated components, and deliveries.
- Operating a forklift truck to transport materials safely throughout the workshop and yard.
- Using an overhead crane to move large and heavy steel components.
- Carrying out daily pre-use visual inspections and safety checks on the forklift truck, reporting any defects in accordance with company procedures.
- Identifying, storing, and issuing materials for production.
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised yard and stock area.
- Assisting with goods in/out, stock control, and general production support.
- Following all health and safety procedures and maintaining high housekeeping standards.
Essential Attributes
- Forklift truck practical operating experience.
- Overhead crane operating experience.
- Previous experience operating a bandsaw or similar metal cutting machinery (preferred, although training may be provided for the right candidate).
- Honest and reliable.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative.
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling duties.
- Good attention to detail.
- Good communication skills.
- A flexible approach to working hours.
- A strong commitment to health and safety.
Working Hours
Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
Friday: 7:30am – 4:00pm
Holiday Entitlement
20 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays (+1 birthday holiday).
The company has a shutdown over the Christmas period.
