Responsibilities
- Safely operate a variety of delivery vehicles, including flatbed trucks, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load, secure, and unload goods using appropriate techniques and equipment, such as straps or tie-downs for flatbed deliveries
- Plan efficient delivery routes to maximize productivity and meet delivery schedules
- Verify delivery orders, obtain signatures, and complete all necessary documentation accurately
- Communicate proactively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status or any issues encountered during routes
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and proper functioning before each shift
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior and exterior to uphold company standards
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with commercial driving background
- Familiarity with flatbed trucks and securing loads safely during transit
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving record; valid driver’s license required
- Knowledge of local roads, traffic patterns, and navigation tools or GPS systems
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to adapt to changing schedules
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting, loading, and unloading heavy or bulky items safely
- Good communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members
