We are currently looking to add a chef de partie to our small but excellent kitchen team at The Abbotsford.
The Abbotsford Bar and Above Restaurant is one of Edinburgh oldest pubs with a well preserved bar on one of the busy streets, The bar is close to many bus routes and to Waverley station.
The work is in a fast paced kitchen, cooking and serving classic pub fayre as part of a close kitchen team
Duties:
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and gathering spices
- Cook menu items in accordance with recipes and portion control guidelines
- Ensure food is cooked to the appropriate temperature and presented in an appealing manner
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures to maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operation and timely delivery of meals
- Assist with the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment and utensils
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Doing nightly orders when required
-Reasonable expectation to help keep paperwork up to date and to assist with breaking down and helping the other chefs to clean the kitchen at the end of service.
- Having input into specials and giving menu feedback to the head chef when needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a professional kitchen or restaurant setting
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary terminology
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively
- Knowledge of proper food handling procedures and food safety regulations
- Ability to work well as part of a team
