JOB TITLE: Café Assistant
HOURS OF WORK: 13 hours per week
REPORTS TO: Retail Manager
PAY: £8,686.60 per annum
Responsible for serving drinks and food in the Hub café, working with the Café Supervisor and Trainees to ensure the customers and trainees always experience the best service possible when visiting the café.
· Prepare customer drinks in a consistent manner every time
· Assist with a range of daily tasks which include, taking food and drink orders using the till, deliver food and drink orders to customers tables, clearing tables after customer use
· Supporting Hub Trainees to ensure they understand how drinks should be served and providing training when asked on producing drinks
· To ensure trainees needs are met at all times according to the work required and our trainee’s personal needs
· Keep a clean work area, ensuring the coffee machine cleanliness is maintained throughout the day and follow the cleaning rota that is in place for the café
· Support on stock control including logging wastage as per the Hub policies
· Support Café Supervisor and Chef with stock checks, occasionally may be required to place orders of stock
· Assist with end of day tasks which may include, locking up, cleaning tasks, and cashing up of the till
· Provide great customer service including being able to answer questions about the menu
· On occasion assist the Chef or Retail Manager in the kitchen, this may include preparing food in advance and to order for both the café menu and for Trainees, and supporting Trainees to complete a variety of tasks
· General cleaning tasks, such as washing up, cleaning surfaces or sweeping
· Occasional support for out of core hours events which may include serving drinks or preparing food and serving food at the event (expected 1-2 times a year)
· To work as part of a team that is always open, honest and supportive of each other
· Retail and/or catering industry experience
· Punctual
· Being able to work within a team
· Able to handle cash
· The ability to work calmly under pressure

· The ability to work without direction

Hours
· Monday and Wednesday 9.00 – 4.00
· 30 minutes unpaid lunch

Pay: £12.85 per hour
Work Location: In person
