Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cafe Assistant to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and have a keen interest in food and beverage operations. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills within the hospitality sector, including food preparation, serving, and maintaining high standards of food safety. The Cafe Assistant will play a vital part in creating a welcoming environment for our customers while supporting daily cafe operations.
Responsibilities
- Serve food and beverages to customers in a courteous and professional manner
- Assist with food preparation tasks, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met
- Take customer orders accurately and handle transactions efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness of the cafe area, including tables, counters, and kitchen surfaces
- Restock supplies and ensure the cafe is well-organised throughout the shift
- Uphold food safety standards in accordance with health regulations
- Support catering events as required, assisting with set-up and service
- Provide excellent hospitality experience by engaging positively with customers and addressing any queries or concerns promptly
Requirements
- Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Barista experience is advantageous but not mandatory
- Knowledge of food safety standards and practices is desirable
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively during busy periods
- Friendly demeanour with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and holidays if required
- A proactive attitude towards learning new skills within the hospitality sector
