We are seeking an ambitious Programme and Governance Officer to support the Growth and Development department, reporting into the Office of the Chief Executive team. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with senior managers and partners to support governance, planning, and strengthen strategic activity across the department.
About the role
As a Programme and Governance Officer you’ll play a key role in supporting the delivery of key growth priorities, programmes and projects. You’ll ensure there is strong governance, effective planning and compliance with statutory responsibilities.
Working closely with Directors, senior managers, partners and stakeholders, you’ll support across the range of teams within the Growth and Development department and contribute to the development of high-quality strategies, reports and presentations.
What you will do
- Coordinate strategic meetings, programmes and action plans
- Support the development, delivery and monitoring of departmental business plans
- Prepare high-quality briefings, presentations and communications for senior leaders and partners
- Support governance, risk, resilience and statutory compliance activities
- Build effective working relationships with senior leaders, elected members and partner organisations
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
- Skilled in project and programme coordination
- An excellent communicator with strong written and verbal skills
- Confident working with senior leaders and external partners
- Experienced in governance, planning and business support activities
