We’re looking for a skilled Engineer to keep our production machinery running safely, efficiently, and reliably. You’ll carry out reactive and preventative maintenance, diagnose faults, improve machine performance, and support the production team to minimise downtime and maximise output.
Hours of work:
Monday - Thursday 07:00 until 17:00
What You’ll Do
- Ensure all production machinery runs safely and efficiently
- Handle day‑to‑day equipment performance across all lines
- Respond quickly to drops in efficiency or machine faults
- Carry out repairs, root‑cause analysis, and long‑term fixes
- Complete preventative maintenance and regular inspections
- Optimise machine settings and calibrations to support throughput
- Manage spare parts stock and request reorders when required
- Identify opportunities to improve machine reliability
- Conduct and record safety checks on all mechanical/electrical systems
- Maintain engineering logs, maintenance records, and service documentation
- Train and support Shift Managers and Line Supervisors with machine issues
- Update the Engineering Manager on status, risks, and improvement ideas
What You’ll Bring
- Previous engineering experience (essential)
- Experience working with production machinery (preferred)
- Strong mechanical & electrical diagnostic skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings/schematics
- Skilled using hand tools, power tools & plant equipment
- Excellent fault‑finding and problem‑solving ability
- Strong planning, prioritising, and organisational skills
- Good communication and ability to work with multiple teams
- Solid understanding of Health & Safety & safe working practices
Physical Requirements
- Standing for long periods while working on machinery
- Manual handling, lifting (20 kg+), and use of engineering tools
- Working at height and accessing elevated machinery safely
- Navigating busy production areas safely
- Ability to work in warm, noisy, or industrial environments
