Job Overview
We are seeking a caring and responsible Home Dog Boarder to provide exceptional care for dogs in a home environment. The role involves looking after dogs while their owners are away, ensuring they are comfortable, safe, and well-cared for. Responsibilities
- Provide daily care and companionship to dogs staying in your home, including feeding, walking, and playtime
- Monitor dogs’ behaviour and health, reporting any concerns promptly
- Maintain a clean and organised environment suitable for pet care
- Administer medication or special diets as instructed by owners or veterinary professionals
- Ensure dogs are comfortable and secure at all times, adhering to specific care instructions
- Communicate regularly with pet owners regarding their dog’s wellbeing and any notable incidents
- Manage bookings efficiently and keep detailed records of each dog’s stay and care needs
Qualifications
- Prior veterinary experience or animal care qualifications are highly desirable
- Genuine passion for animals with previous experience caring for dogs preferred
- Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., lifting large or heavy dogs)
- Reliable, organised, and trustworthy with excellent attention to detail
- Compassionate nature with patience for animals of all temperaments
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for transportation purposes
