We are looking for a Domain Lead to join our eCommerce Developments team. Based onsite at NEXT Head Office in Enderby, Leicestershire 4 days per week (with 1 day working from home). We are offering a competitive salary range up to £95,000 with great benefits!
The Role:
As a Domain Lead at NEXT, you will provide critical ownership and leadership across a portfolio of business critical eCommerce platforms and operational capabilities, including our internal Product Information Management System (NEOS), Translation, Google Tag Manager (GTM), and UCM / cookie compliance. Sitting at the intersection of product, technology, operations and governance, you will ensure these domains remain stable, compliant and responsive to business needs while driving modernisation, automation and continuous improvement.
You will guide the strategic evolution of NEOS to simplify how product teams consume product data, protecting service stability while modernising legacy components. You will champion efficiency across both UK and Pune teams, identifying manual process bottlenecks and embedding robust automation to deliver measurable time savings, increase speed and accuracy and release team capacity for higher value strategic activity.
In this key role, you will act as the direct point of accountability, prioritisation and escalation across high volume, time sensitive domains. You will enable rapid campaign execution and measurement via GTM, drive local language content delivery at scale across international markets and maintain strict customer consent and cookie compliance controls to protect customer trust.
What You'll Take On:
- Define and deliver roadmaps, priorities and service health for NEOS, Translation, GTM and UCM, balancing technical risk, governance and commercial goals.
- Shape the technical and functional evolution of our internal PIM platform NEOS to enhance usability, data quality and consumption for product teams and automation initiatives.
- Lead initiatives across UK and Pune teams to automate workflows, eliminate manual touchpoints and unlock quantifiable capacity and cost savings.
- Oversee high volume tag management changes, establishing effective governance, testing and release controls to support Marketing, Trading and Analytics without slowing speed to market.
- Serve as the technical lead for UCM, partnering with Legal, Privacy and Security teams to ensure digital tracking and consent mechanisms comply with regulatory standards.
- Manage day to day operational performance, live issues and peak trading readiness while putting long term root cause fixes in place.
- Optimise translation tooling, workflows and service levels to deliver accurate, localised eCommerce content across international markets efficiently.
- Direct and mentor cross functional delivery teams while maintaining clear communication and alignment with senior leaders across Product, Engineering, Marketing and Legal.
What You'll Bring:
We are looking for a commercially minded, process driven digital leader who balances big picture platform strategy with hands-on operational rigor. You thrive in fast paced environments, remain calm under pressure and excel at translating complex technical or compliance requirements into actionable delivery plans.
- Proven experience leading digital products, domains, or tech operations within a high scale, fast paced eCommerce or retail environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in roadmap management, backlog prioritisation and managing complex cross-platform dependencies alongside agile engineering teams.
- Track record of auditing complex workflows, eliminating operational bottlenecks and delivering measurable cost or time savings through automation.
- Strong operational judgment with experience handling live incidents, service performance, peak trade readiness and urgent business requests.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build trust, align diverse technical and non-technical teams and influence senior stakeholders.
- Prior experience with Product Information Management (PIM) systems, product data workflows, or master data capabilities.
- Familiarity with Google Tag Manager, digital analytics setups, or marketing technology governance.
- Practical knowledge of user consent management, cookie compliance and privacy controls across digital channels.
- Experience managing translation platforms or scaling localised content across international markets.
- A track record of successfully modernising legacy systems and tech debt without disrupting live operational business.
