Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Commis Chef/Chef de Partie to join our busy kitchen team in a vibrant 57‑bedroom hotel. Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards
- Assist in meal preparation, ensuring timely delivery during busy service periods
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in compliance with food safety regulations
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, and fryers
- Monitor food quality and presentation before serving
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Restock ingredients and supplies as needed to maintain efficient workflow
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation or as a kitchen assistant is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Knowledge of cooking techniques and meal preparation methods
- Understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Experience working in a restaurant or hospitality environment is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends and evenings, bank holidays and Christmas/New Year.
