This is an exciting opportunity to lead our electrical design team, overseeing and coordinating the electrical design for large, complex construction projects. You'll be the central point for technical excellence, team leadership, and client liaison, ensuring sustainable, compliant, and cost-effective design delivery from concept through to construction. This role bridges client needs with engineering reality whilst driving innovation for high-value projects.
What will you be responsible for?
As a Electrical Lead, you'll be working within the Major Projects team, supporting them in delivering exceptional electrical design solutions. Your day to day will include:
- Leading and managing the electrical design team, overseeing all aspects of Building Services engineering and coordinating with the Mechanical Lead to ensure integrated solutions
- Managing team utilisation, development and capabilities, whilst maintaining quality standards aligned to industry best practices
- Liaising with clients and stakeholders, participating in design meetings, and providing high-level technical advice to establish innovative solutions
- Supporting business development activities, including preparing fee proposals, quality responses, and attending client meetings to win new opportunities
- Ensuring projects are delivered on budget and to timescale, whilst maintaining excellent customer satisfaction and adhering to QA procedures
What are we looking for?
This role of Electrical Lead is great for you if:
- You're a Chartered Engineer and member of CIBSE or IET, with a Degree in Electrical Building Services or Electrical Engineering
- You have significant experience managing and driving multi-discipline technical teams with a proven track record of achieving challenging business targets
- You possess excellent communication skills, able to translate complex technical concepts into clear information for diverse audiences
- You have experience applying quality procedures and document control in engineering design
- You're collaborative, trusted, and focused - enjoying building effective relationships whilst delivering what you promise with clarity and discipline
