Join our team as a support worker, where you will play a vital role in creating the supportive and creative environment that will encourage our 30-year-old son with autism to achieve greater independence and confidence. This rewarding position involves providing personalised care and support tailored to his individual needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide encouragement and support to help him to carry out his preferred activities and interests.
- Activities include:
- Cooking, which he studied at college and might work in a kitchen in the future.
- Gardening, which he has experienced working in a local park.
- Interests include:
- Walking, which he loves, and he walks very fast and far.
- Food and cooking meals, for which he likes to plan and do the shopping.
- Listening to music. He is musical and likes to practise singing.
- Communicate regularly with his family and team members to ensure consistent progress.
- Drive him to appointments or activities.
- Monitor behavioral changes or challenges, using agreed methods.
- Qualifications:
- Energy, imagination and enthusiasm to develop and build upon his interests and activities.
- Experience working with children or young adults with special needs, particularly autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
- Valid driving license with a clean driving record.
- Patience, enthusiasm and imagination.
Pay: £101.68-£138.75 per day
