Location: The Miller of Mansfield, Goring-on-Thames, RG8 9AW
Pay: Up to £13 per hour, plus tronc

About the role
The Miller of Mansfield is an independently managed pub with rooms in Goring-on-Thames. We are looking for a reliable Commis Chef to join our small kitchen team and develop their professional cooking skills.
You will work alongside experienced chefs on preparation, service and the day-to-day organisation of a fresh-food kitchen. This is a practical role: cleaning, washing up and stock work are part of the job alongside food preparation and basic cooking. For someone with the right attitude and foundations, there will be opportunities to take on more responsibility as their skills develop.
What you will be doing
- Preparing vegetables, garnishes, sauces and other ingredients
- Supporting sections during service and taking on basic cooking tasks
- Following recipes, portioning and presentation standards
- Working accurately with allergens, temperatures and food-safety records
- Labelling, rotating and storing stock correctly
- Receiving deliveries and putting stock away safely
- Washing up and keeping work areas, equipment and floors clean
- Helping close the kitchen down and prepare it for the next service
What we are looking for
- Some professional kitchen, food-preparation or high-volume hospitality experience
- A genuine interest in developing as a chef
- Willingness to learn, take instruction and do the full practical role
- A reliable, organised and team-minded approach
- Ability to stay calm and useful during busy services
- Reliable travel to Goring for morning, evening and weekend shifts
- Existing right to work in the UK
