Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Carpenter Foreman to lead and supervise our on-site construction teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, extensive carpentry expertise, and the ability to oversee multiple projects efficiently. This role involves coordinating daily operations, ensuring safety standards are met, and maintaining high-quality craftsmanship throughout all phases of construction. The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in delivering projects on time and within budget, while fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of carpentry teams on-site, ensuring adherence to project plans and safety regulations
- Manage daily work schedules, assigning tasks effectively to optimise productivity
- Oversee the utilisation of materials and tools, ensuring efficient use and proper maintenance
- Monitor progress of projects, providing guidance and support to team members as needed
- Liaise with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to ensure clear communication and timely resolution of issues
- Enforce health and safety policies, conducting regular site inspections to identify potential hazards
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and labour hours for reporting purposes
- Ensure all work complies with relevant building codes, standards, and specifications
Qualifications
- Proven experience in carpentry with a strong background in supervising construction teams
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 project management software is essential
- Demonstrated management skills with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively
- Supervising experience on large-scale construction projects is highly desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication skills to liaise confidently with clients, suppliers, and team members
- Valid relevant trade qualifications or certifications in carpentry or construction management is preferred
Candidates must be organised, proactive, and committed to maintaining high standards of safety and quality throughout all stages of construction projects.
Pay: £150.00-£250.00 per day
