Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Carer/Team Leader to oversee and support nursing home operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising care staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care, and maintaining effective communication with residents, families, and healthcare professionals. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of care assistants, ensuring all residents receive personalised and respectful care in accordance with their individual care plans
- Assist with the assessment and development of care plans tailored to residents’ needs
- Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a positive and professional working environment
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided, implementing improvements where necessary
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures within the care home
- Support residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, medication management, and emotional support
- Maintain accurate documentation related to resident care and staff rotas using IT systems
- Facilitate effective communication between residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members
- Assist with organising transportation for residents as needed, utilising driving skills where applicable
Requirements
- Proven supervisory or leadership experience within a care home or senior care setting
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Experience in developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs
- Driving licence is essential for supporting transportation requirements
- Knowledge of health & safety standards relevant to elderly or vulnerable adult care environments
- Good IT skills for record keeping and reporting purposes
- Compassionate approach with a commitment to delivering high standards of person-centred care
- Ability to motivate and lead a team whilst maintaining professional integrity
Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
