We’re a small but growing Amazon and e-commerce business, and we’re looking for someone who wants the opportunity to grow with us.
You’ll initially join us as a Warehouse Operative, learning how our operation works from the ground up. You’ll receive full training, so previous warehouse or Amazon experience isn’t necessary.
What matters much more to us is your attitude, reliability, ability to learn and willingness to work hard.
For the right person, there is a genuine path towards becoming a Warehouse Supervisor, taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of the operation and eventually helping to manage other members of the team.
We’re looking for someone who wants more than simply turning up, doing the minimum and going home.
What you’ll initially be doing
You’ll learn our complete warehouse and Amazon FBA preparation process, including:
- Receiving and checking deliveries
- Unloading and organising stock
- Identifying and reporting damaged or incorrect deliveries
- Working with spreadsheets and our internal systems
- Processing stock through Amazon Seller Central
- Preparing Amazon FBA shipments
- Printing and applying product labels
- Packing and boxing products
- Preparing shipments for collection
- Keeping the warehouse organised
- Making sure work is completed accurately and on time
The job is physical and fast-paced. You’ll regularly be moving stock, lifting boxes and spending much of the day on your feet.
You’ll also need to use a computer throughout the day, follow processes accurately and learn several different systems.
Where the role can lead
We’re deliberately looking for someone we can develop.
As you become competent and earn our trust, you’ll gradually be given more responsibility.
That could include:
- Taking ownership of incoming and outgoing stock
- Prioritising the day’s workload
- Delegating work to other team members
- Training new staff
- Communicating directly with clients
- Resolving day-to-day problems independently
- Checking the quality and accuracy of other people’s work
- Making sure shipments leave on time
- Eventually supervising the day-to-day warehouse operation
Your pay will increase as your skills, responsibilities and importance to the operation increase.
We’re a growing business, so we’re looking for someone who can grow alongside it.
Who we’re looking for
You don’t need an impressive CV.
You don’t need years of experience.
You don’t need to have worked in a warehouse before.
We’d rather find someone with the right characteristics and teach them everything else.
You’ll probably suit this role if you:
- Turn up when you say you will
- Take pride in working quickly and efficiently
- Learn new processes quickly
- Can follow instructions accurately
- Don’t need somebody constantly telling you what to do next
- Notice when something isn’t right
- Ask questions rather than guessing
- Take responsibility when you make a mistake
- Are comfortable with physical work and lifting boxes
- Can stay focused during repetitive tasks
- Want to become genuinely good at what you do
- Want increased responsibility rather than avoiding it
What we don’t want
This probably isn’t the right job for you if you’re looking for somewhere you can simply turn up, work at your own pace and collect a wage.
We’re a small team. That means individual performance matters.
We work quickly, we help each other, and when something needs doing, we get it done.
At the same time, being a small business means good people get noticed. If you’re reliable, capable and consistently make our lives easier, you’ll be given more trust, more responsibility and the opportunity to progress.
Why join us?
You’ll be joining while the business is still relatively small.
That means you won’t be employee number 347 in a massive warehouse.
You’ll work directly with the people running the business, learn how an Amazon and e-commerce operation actually works, and have the opportunity to become one of the key people within the company as we grow.
For someone ambitious who hasn’t necessarily been given that opportunity somewhere else, this could become a much bigger role than the one you’re initially applying for.
If that sounds like you, apply with your CV and tell us briefly why you think you’d be a good fit.
