About the Role
We are looking to recruit a motivated and practical Technical Workshop Engineer to support our technical engineering team on a part-time basis (2 to 3 days a week). This role is primarily workshop-based at our office in Runcorn WA7, servicing, repairing and preparing specialist equipment for our healthcare customers.
For the right candidate, there is excellent potential for the position to develop into a full-time role, including opportunities to become a field-based Junior Technical Services Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, fault diagnosis and basic repairs on equipment within the workshop.
- Upgrade equipment to the latest approved software versions.
- Carry out Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) on equipment.
- Maintain accurate service records and workshop documentation.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with customer and internal KPIs, company quality standards and health & safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organised working environment.
Following successful completion of training and competency assessments, responsibilities will expand to include:
- Travel to Scotland to service nebuliser equipment (every 6-8 weeks).
- Occasional field-based servicing and repair work at customer sites (company vehicle provided).
- Participation in the engineering on-call rota for one of our key customers after approximately 6 to 9 months.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- A practical engineering or electrical/mechanical background (preferred but not essential).
- Experience servicing or repairing technical equipment (preferred but not essential).
- Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills (preferred but not essential).
- The ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively (essential).
- Good communication and customer service skills (essential).
- A full UK driving licence (essential).
- Flexibility to travel and undertake field work as the role develops (essential).
