The Role
We are seeking an organised and motivated Lead Learning Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day running of our learning centre.
This is a varied, hands-on role combining leadership, learner support, administration, and the delivery of 1:1 and small group tuition in Maths, English and Science for Early Years to GCSE level learners.
You will support learners through individual learning plans and work closely with colleagues to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery across the centre.
This role is centre-based and focused on targeted learning support and learner progress, rather than full classroom teaching responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily running of the learning centre
- Support, coordinate, and guide colleagues
- Deliver 1:1 and small group tuition in Maths, English, Science
- Facilitate Functional Skills exams and AQA Unit Award Scheme certification
- Develop and implement individual learning plans
- Prepare learner work, resources, and session materials
- Carry out general office administration tasks
- Monitor learner progress, attendance, and outcomes
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to reporting requirements
- Ensure a safe, structured, and positive learning environment
- Support satellite centres when required including Stockton-on-Tees and Redcar
Requirements
Essential:
- Experience in education, tutoring, or learning support
- Experience delivering 1:1 and/or small group tuition in Maths, English and Science
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a busy environment
- A proactive, supportive, and learner-focused approach
- Paediatric First Aid (or willingness to undertake training)Desirable:
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, DET/DTLLS or equivalent) or equivalent experience in structured education delivery
- Experience supervising or coordinating staff
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to satellite centres

This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references in line with safeguarding requirements.
Working Hours
Core hours are typically term time only:
- Monday: 10:30 – 18:30 (30 min unpaid break)
- Tuesday: 10:00 – 18:30 (30 min unpaid break)
- Wednesday: 10:00 – 19:30 (1 hour unpaid break)
- Thursday: 10:00 – 18:30 (30 min unpaid break)
Some flexibility may be required depending upon centre needs.
