Core Purpose
- To support the efficient day-to-day operation of the warehouse by ensuring the safe receipt, storage, handling, picking, packing and dispatch of goods.
- Responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, adhering to health and safety standards, and ensuring operational requirements are met in a timely and professional manner
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
Goods-in and Receiving:
- Receive deliveries and verify quantities against delivery documentation.
- Inspect incoming goods for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Accurately record goods received within the Warehouse Management System (WMS) or ERP system.
- Promptly report any damaged, missing, or incorrect items.
Storage and Inventory:
- Store materials safely, securely, and efficiently in designated locations.
- Maintain accurate stock records and effective inventory control.
- Participate in cycle counts and annual stock takes.
- Assist in investigating and resolving stock discrepancies.
- Ensure stock is correctly labelled, identified, and stored in accordance with company procedures.
Picking and Packing:
- Accurately pick materials against work orders, sales orders, or project requirements.
- Prepare equipment and materials for dispatch.
- Package goods securely and appropriately in accordance with company and customer requirements.
- Ensure all relevant shipping and packing documentation is completed accurately.
Dispatch:
- Prepare and process outbound shipments in line with delivery requirements.
- Coordinate with logistics providers, freight companies, and couriers as required.
- Ensure export, shipping, and transport documentation is completed accurately where applicable.
- Ensure materials and equipment are dispatched on time to meet project and customer delivery deadlines.
Warehouse Operations:
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely, including forklifts, pallet trucks, and lifting equipment, where trained and authorised.
- Assist with the safe loading and unloading of vehicles.
- Follow all company health, safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
- Identify and contribute to opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency and working practices.
- Demonstrate a proactive, safety-first approach in all warehouse activities.
QHSE Responsibilities
To have a general understanding of the areas of our QHSE Management System and OEG’s QHSE aims and objectives that are relevant to the role.
Comply with the requirements of OEG Energy Group Policies and the responsibilities within the wider QHSE Management System.

Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- Previous experience in a warehouse, stores, logistics, or similar environment.
- Good understanding of warehouse and stores operations.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems.
- Experience handling inventory and maintaining accurate stock records.
- Experience preparing shipping, dispatch, or transport documentation.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in a warehouse environment.
- Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and meet operational deadlines.
Desirable:
- Experience using ERP or inventory management systems, such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, or Ultimo.
- Dangerous Goods Awareness or relevant training.
- Experience within the offshore, oil & gas, marine, engineering, or related industries.
- Knowledge of export, transport, or dangerous goods documentation.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- Valid Forklift Truck (FLT) licence.
- Banksman/Slinger certification.
- Manual Handling training.
- First Aid at Work qualification.
