Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our team in Torquay. This part-time, permanent role is essential for supporting our kitchen operations in the hospitality and catering industry. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, maintain cleanliness, and ensure a smooth workflow, contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation of food items according to established recipes and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and food storage areas.
- Wash, peel, and chop vegetables and fruits as required.
- Support chefs in cooking and plating dishes during service.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and maintained properly.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation.
- Help with the cleaning of kitchen utensils and equipment after use.
Qualifications:

No formal education required; however, a basic understanding of food hygiene is preferred.
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment is an advantage but not essential.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior kitchen staff.
- Basic knowledge of food safety practices.
