Duties
- Plan and deliver engaging dance lessons across various styles, including ballet, jazz, contemporary, and hip-hop, tailored to different age groups and skill levels
- Teach musical theatre techniques such as acting, singing, choreography, and stage presence to students preparing for performances or auditions
- Create inspiring lesson plans that incorporate creative movement, storytelling, and character development
- Foster a supportive classroom environment that encourages self-expression, teamwork, and confidence-building among students
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and behavior management strategies
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support their growth
- Collaborate with fellow teachers on school productions, performances, and special events to showcase student talents
- Maintain clear communication with parents or guardians regarding student achievements and areas for improvement
- Incorporate elements of early childhood education, special education needs, or preschool experience when working with younger children to ensure inclusive instruction
- Support students' development in related areas such as physical education, creative writing, or basic math concepts when relevant to curriculum integration
Experience
- Proven experience teaching dance styles and musical theatre techniques to children or young learners
- Strong background in working with children with diverse needs, including special education or early childhood education settings
- Demonstrated ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while maintaining an energetic and motivating atmosphere
- Experience tutoring or providing childcare in educational or extracurricular environments
- Excellent communication skills for engaging students, parents, and colleagues effectively
- Knowledge of proofreading or editing skills is a plus for preparing performance programs or promotional materials
- Prior experience teaching physical education or movement-based activities that promote coordination and motor skills is desirable
- A background in creative writing or preschool experience can enhance lesson planning for younger students

Pay: £16.45-£35.07 per hour
