Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and organised Shop Assistant to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting with merchandising, and ensuring the smooth operation of the shop floor. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their enquiries in a professional manner
- Maintain visual merchandising standards to ensure attractive product displays
- Process transactions accurately using the till system, including upselling products where appropriate
- Restock shelves and organise stock to ensure availability and neatness
- Handle phone calls courteously, providing information or directing calls as needed
- Manage stock levels and report any discrepancies or low inventory items
- Support with organising promotional events or special offers within the store
- Ensure the shop environment remains clean, safe, and welcoming at all times
Skills
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities, especially in English and Spanish, are highly desirable
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions and stock counts
- Excellent organisational skills to manage stock and maintain shop presentation standards
- Time management skills to prioritise tasks efficiently during busy periods
- Good phone etiquette for professional communication over the telephone
- Ability to upsell products tactfully to maximise sales opportunities
- Organisational skills to keep the shop tidy and well-stocked at all times
