Join our team as a Maintenance Lead and play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of two specialist healthcare services, making a real difference to the experience of patients, staff and visitors every day.
Working closely with the Support Services Manager, you will lead and support a housekeeping team at Barnet Lane Clinic. You will oversee day-to-day maintenance activities, prioritise workloads, review work schedules and ensure repairs and maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
In this varied and rewarding role, you will support the organisation and completion of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes, ensuring all statutory and compliance requirements are met. You will coordinate contractors on site, providing guidance and local support to ensure works are completed safely, on time and to the required standard. You will also identify, prioritise and respond to faults, damage and maintenance issues, ensuring buildings and facilities remain safe, compliant and fit for purpose.
As Maintenance Lead, you will be responsible for promoting a strong health and safety culture, ensuring all maintenance activities are carried out in line with organisational policies, procedures and statutory regulations. You will also support administrative processes, including purchase orders, invoice approval and budget monitoring, while contributing to Health & Safety, Clinical Governance and Senior Management Team meetings as required.
You’ll be working in a specialist Complex Care and Recovery Service (CCRS), supporting adults with complex needs who benefit from a more tailored, long-term recovery approach beyond standard care settings.
This is a full time role of 37.5 hours a week. Monday to Friday. 8am to 4pm.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Previous maintenance experience in a hospital or similar environment.
- To have a City & Guilds qualification in Electrical, Plumbing or in Building.
- Can demonstrate good managerial and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt – be practical.
- Ability to lift heavy loads and have good physical health.
- To be conscientious and team focused.
- Knowledge of statutory legislation e.g. fire, electrical and health & safety.
- English language skills – verbal and written to GCSE level D or equivalent numerate GCSE level D.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and assertiveness.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
- To have knowledge of plant within a hospital environment.

The service specialises in treating patients who have experienced multiple or prolonged admissions, stalled discharge pathways, or who have been unable to progress within conventional care environments.
