Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Production Operator to join our fantastic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the recovery of base metals and precious metals through the operation of chemical, bioleaching and electrowinning processes. This a practical, hands-on role relying on attention to detail and a willingness to develop a working understanding of the chemistry involved. There will be opportunities to make a proactive contribution to the improvement of production efficiency and increasing plant throughput. A commitment to health and safety is important in this role to help ensure safe, compliant and reliable operations. Full training will be provided for the successful candidate.
Responsibilities
- Material tracking to ensure a full audit trail throughout the process.
- Loading, emptying and monitoring process vessels.
- Operating a filter press and other filtration equipment as required.
- Operation of electrowinning equipment.
- Minor maintenance of equipment and machinery utilised as part of the process
- Collaborating with colleagues to create and review working practices to optimise safety and efficiency and optimisation.
- Maintaining a clean and organised workspace including undertaking safety inspections of process equipment and general warehouse equipment.
- Data input – inputting information from process onto tracking tools.
- Maintaining Health and Safety standards and contributing to improvements.
- Support development and improvement of production processes
- Lab assistance - providing non-technical support for lab staff, including sample collection, data input and maintaining a clean and safe lab work area.
You will need the following skills/experience
- Basic Chemistry knowledge (desirable but not essential)
- Direct experience of hydrometallurgy would be an advantage
- Experienced in working with pump and compressor systems, mixing & agitation and pipe network systems would be an advantage
- Previous experience in a production or recycling environment
- Ability to work with conflicting and changing priorities
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Commitment to health and safety
- IT proficient
- Excellent communication skills
- Happy to work in isolation as well as of part of a team
- A practical, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious approach to work
