Gloagburn Farm Shop and Coffee Shop
Gloagburn is a well established family owned restaurant and farm shop on the outskirts of Perth, PH1 1QL.
Our 130 cover restaurant is open 8.30am to 5.30pm serving breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea with the emphasis on good quality, seasonal, Scottish produce and an excellent standard of customer service. In addition we hold steak nights on the last Friday in the month October through March.
Our busy and recently expanded Farm shop includes all the local produce you would expect as well as ingredients from around the world, our own bakery and in house butchery.
We have a vacancy for a Sous Chef to support our Head Chef in the production of a range of dishes for service and retail. You will be cooking from scratch on a daily basis for up to 500 covers. Menus include tried and tested family recipies and authentic farm house dishes focusing on seasonal produce. You will be using established Gloagburn recipies as well as creating new ideas for restaurant speacials and shop products.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced chef looking for the next step and willing to take some responsibility. You must have good technical knowledge, proven cookery skills, a genuine enthusiasm for our product and the ability to manage motivate and lead the team through a daily service.
This is a busy hands on position, requiring good communication and team work in a fast paced kitchen. If you are a motivated, enthusiastic team player who enjoys the buzz of a busy kitchen and is looking for something new, we would love to hear from you.
This position is full time, working five days from seven 07:30am - 4:30pm.
The hourly rate is £15.50 per hour. .
Due to our rural location your own transport is essential.
The Job
- Supporting the head chef in the weekly running of the kitchen ensuring sufficient preperation and production to meet business levels.
- Forward planning for seasonal demand.
- Ensuring retail production levels are met and products are of the standard required.
- Ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and cleanliness.
- Communication with managers and directors to ensure quality quantity and customer satisfaction. .
The person
- You will have several years experience in a senior position
- The ability to manage motivate and develop a team.
- Proven cookery knowledge and skills.
- Experience of high volume fast paced catering
- A can do attitude and the ability to communicate effectively.
