Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high-quality care to individuals in our supported living homes. The role involves supporting people with a range of needs, including Learning Disabilities', Autism and Mental Health. The ideal candidate will have experience in care, demonstrating a genuine commitment to improving the lives of those they support. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the community while developing valuable skills in healthcare. Being able to drive and holding a driving licence would be beneficial, as we have vehicles used for outings, holidays and fun activities.
Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised care, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
- Support individuals with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Mental Health through behaviour management strategies and companionship
- Administer medication accurately following prescribed instructions and document accordingly
- Assist with food shopping and healthy meal preparation
- Provide emotional support and companionship to promote well-being and independence
- Participate in housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Support with medical procedures such as first aid when necessary
- Support individuals to appointments or outings as needed
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care plans are followed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a care environment is highly desirable
- Knowledge of care practices including Learning Disabilities, Autism and Mental Health
- Certification or training in first aid is advantageous
- Strong communication skills and compassionate nature
- Basic understanding of medication administration and behaviour management techniques
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required
