We are now looking for an experienced and motivated Internal Quality Auditor to join our team and play an important role in supporting quality, compliance, risk management and continuous improvement across the organisation.
About the role
As Internal Quality Auditor, you will work closely with the Internal Quality Manager and teams across NEBDN to plan and deliver effective internal audits and quality assurance activity.
You will review processes, policies and procedures, assess compliance, identify risks and opportunities for improvement, and provide practical recommendations that help the organisation operate effectively and maintain high standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in internal audit, quality assurance or quality management who enjoys analysing processes, identifying improvements and working collaboratively with colleagues across different areas of an organisation.
Key responsibilities
You will:
- Plan, prepare and undertake internal audits, quality checks, reviews and interviews across the organisation.
- Evaluate evidence and assess compliance with NEBDN policies, procedures and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Support compliance with regulatory requirements, including those of Ofqual, CCEA, the GDC and ICO.
- Apply a risk-based approach to quality assurance and identify operational risks.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and recommend practical solutions.
- Develop and monitor corrective and preventative actions arising from audit findings.
- Assign actions, monitor progress and ensure actions are completed within agreed timescales.
- Support internal investigations, root-cause analysis and appropriate risk mitigation.
- Work collaboratively with departments to review processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Prepare clear and accurate audit reports, action plans and KPI information.
- Escalate quality, compliance and risk issues appropriately to the Internal Quality Manager.
- Support external audits, regulatory inspections and the development of NEBDN's internal quality management framework.
- Contribute to building and maintaining a positive culture of quality assurance and continuous improvement.
About you
We are looking for someone who is analytical, organised and confident working across different teams.
You will ideally have:
- At least 2 years' experience undertaking audit-related activities within a Quality Management Framework.
- A good understanding of risk-based quality assurance processes.
- Experience supporting an internal quality function and delivering service improvements across teams.
- An understanding of regulatory requirements within an organisational setting.
- Experience reviewing processes and workflows, including cross-departmental activity.
- A working knowledge of quality assurance and audit processes and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- The ability to produce robust quality assurance reports using Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
- The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach to identifying and resolving problems.
- High standards of personal integrity, ethics and professionalism.
- A genuine commitment to service excellence and continuous improvement.
Desirable experience
It would be advantageous if you have:
- A qualification in internal quality assurance, auditing or a related discipline.
- A Level 3 qualification in Business Administration or equivalent.
- Experience working within an Awarding Organisation or End Point Assessment Organisation.
- Knowledge of the regulatory requirements relevant to education and the dental sector, including Ofqual and GDC requirements.
- Experience of quality assurance within an education, examination or assessment environment.
