About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and reliable person to join our team as a Mains Layer. This is a hands-on role that offers the opportunity to learn a specialist trade within the utilities sector, with full training and ongoing support provided.
Working as part of an experienced team, you will assist with the installation, replacement, and maintenance of water mains, pipework, and pumping systems. Responsibilities will include excavation work, digging trenches, preparing sites, installing and connecting pipes, welding pipework, and supporting a variety of infrastructure projects. The role is primarily based outdoors and involves working on both new installations and repair projects, ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop new skills, gain industry experience, and build a career within a growing and essential sector.
About You
Experience in construction, groundworks, labouring, landscaping, civils, or another practical outdoor role would be beneficial; however, previous mains laying experience is not essential, as full training will be provided.
The successful candidate will enjoy working outdoors, be comfortable carrying out physical work, and be eager to learn new skills. A positive attitude, willingness to work collaboratively, and a commitment to safe working practices are essential.
