About the Role
Daniel Housing Support CIC is looking for a reliable, caring and proactive Housing Support Worker to support our residents and manage our housing services.
The role combines housing management, resident support and tenancy sustainment. You will work closely with residents to ensure they are safe, supported and able to maintain their accommodation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of resident properties and carry out regular property inspections.
- Conduct regular welfare checks and respond appropriately to residents' needs.
- Build positive, professional relationships with residents while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
- Support residents with tenancy-related issues, appointments and day-to-day housing matters.
- Assist residents with Housing Benefit, Universal Credit and other benefit-related matters.
- Support residents to maintain their accommodation and prevent tenancy breakdown.
- Identify and report repairs, property issues, safeguarding concerns and tenancy breaches.
- Liaise with local authorities, support agencies, contractors and other professionals where required.
- Maintain accurate records of resident contact, welfare checks, property inspections and incidents.
- Support residents with referrals and access to appropriate health, welfare and community services.
- Work closely with the Housing and Revenue teams to resolve rent, service charge and other housing-related issues.
- Follow organisational policies relating to safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection.
Essential Skills
- Experience supporting vulnerable adults, residents or tenants.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to build trust while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Understanding of tenancy sustainment and housing-related support.
- Ability to recognise and appropriately escalate safeguarding and welfare concerns.
- Confidence working independently and as part of a team.
- A calm, patient, respectful and professional approach.
Desirable
- Experience in supported housing, social housing or housing management.
- Knowledge of Housing Benefit and Universal Credit.
- Experience working with local authorities or support agencies.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and tenancy sustainment.
