ROLE: Water Technician – Level 3
LOCATION: Newcastle Upon Tyne
CONTRACT: Full Time

We're looking for a Water Technician – Level 3 who will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of water treatment systems, ensuring full regulatory compliance and safe water management across customer sites.

- Complete allocated water hygiene and treatment jobs within agreed timescales.
- Accurately complete and submit all documentation in real time using electronic systems.
- Maintain high compliance standards, ensuring no more than one audit failure per year.
- Act as the lead technician or responsible person when working as part of a team.
- Ensure all works are completed in line with current legislation and company procedures.
- Promote and maintain high Health & Safety standards across all tasks and sites.
- Plan and organise workloads to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
- Liaise with client representatives and escalate issues to the Field Manager where required.
- Ensure all equipment is safe, compliant, and fit for purpose.
- Deliver Level 1 & Level 2 water hygiene activities alongside advanced technical services, including:
- Closed heating and chilled system testing
- Cooling tower weekly and monthly checks
- Boiler water treatment
- Plumbing and water treatment remedial works
- Acid descaling of boilers, cooling towers, and condensers
- Interpret results and reports, providing technical recommendations where required.
- Support the training and development of junior technicians.
Additional duties may include secondary disinfection testing, plant inspections, silver/copper analysis, BSRIA chemistry and microbiological sampling, and closed‑system dosing.
Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role.
- Strong, advanced knowledge of water treatment and compliance processes.
- Proven experience within Legionella control, water hygiene, or water treatment environments.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making capability.
- Excellent communication and client‑facing skills.
- IT‑confident with the ability to use tablet/mobile reporting systems.
- Valid UK driving licence and ability to pass DBS/security checks.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
