We're looking for an Assistant Climate & Environment Delivery Partner to join our South West Restore Nature Team. In this role, you'll help properties, farms and estates across the region reduce carbon emissions, improve climate resilience and deliver nature-friendly land management.
Working alongside Climate & Environment Advisers, Land Use & Nature Delivery Partners and our Property Teams, you'll provide practical support, and analysis that helps embed sustainable practices and contribute to the National Trust's climate and environmental ambitions. You’ll share knowledge, solve problems and help deliver positive change.
What it's like to work here:You’ll be part of the Trust’s internal consultancy: a flexible resource of specialist skills and expertise. As one of a multidisciplinary team of experts, including curators, fundraisers, building surveyors and project managers, you’ll be working with others to help make things happen.
Your contractual place of work will be the National Trust office at Bristol. Our hybrid working policy means you can balance office and home working with site visits and meetings at other National Trust places. We’ll talk about this in more detail at interview, but you should expect to be at a National Trust site for 40–60% of your working week.
What you'll be doing:You'll support the delivery of climate and environmental objectives by:
- Working with Property teams to establish carbon baselines and monitor changes using tools such as the National Trust’s Farm Carbon Hub.
- Interpreting carbon assessment data and helping identify practical opportunities to reduce emissions across farming and land management activities.
- Supporting the adoption of low-carbon, nature-friendly farming and land-use practices.
- Identifying opportunities to increase carbon sequestration and helping quantify potential benefits over the short, medium and long term.
- Supporting climate adaptation planning, helping our Places to become more resilient to the climate risks now and future.
- Assisting with the implementation & monitoring of the National Trust's Climate and Environment Management System (CEMS - ISO14001).
- Gathering, analysing and presenting environmental performance data to support decision-making and reporting.
- Supporting compliance with environmental legislation, standards and best practice.
- Helping deliver training, guidance and support to property staff, volunteers and colleagues.
- Building effective relationships with internal teams, contractors, consultants and external partners.

- A degree (or equivalent experience) in an environmental, agricultural, land management or related subject.
- Knowledge of climate change mitigation and adaptation, carbon management and environmental sustainability.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to influence and support colleagues through evidence-based advice.
- Experience working collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A proactive approach and a willingness to learn and develop.
- Experience of working within / monitoring an Environmental Management System such as ISO14001.[GH2.1][GD2.2]
- An understanding of a range of farming system sand environmentally friendly land management practices.
- Experience of collecting, interpreting and presenting environmental data.
