Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Campsite Assistant Manager to lead our outdoor hospitality team and ensure an exceptional experience for all guests. Reporting to the park manager, you will oversee daily operations, coordinate guest services, and foster a welcoming environment that encourages outdoor adventure and relaxation. Your leadership will inspire staff, manage campsite facilities, and uphold the highest standards of hospitality, safety, and cleanliness. Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day campsite operations, including check-in/check-out processes, maintenance schedules, and safety protocols
- Lead and motivate a team of staff members to deliver outstanding guest services and uphold operational standards
- Coordinate guest reservations, inquiries, and special requests to ensure a seamless experience
- Oversee the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of all campsite facilities and amenities
- Address guest concerns promptly and professionally, resolving issues to maximise satisfaction
- Manage inventory supplies, equipment maintenance, and vendor relationships as needed
- Promote a positive outdoor environment
- Regular reporting and communication with the Park Manager.
Essential Skills
- Proven management experience with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong background in hospitality or customer service within outdoor or recreational settings
- Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with guests, staff and management
- Adaptability to handle unforeseen challenges, staying calm under pressure with proactive problem-solving skills
- Computer literacy - use of Microsoft office and Outlook
- You must have a full driving licence
- Friendly and customer focused. Willing to go the extra yard to ensure that operations run smoothly and guests have an enjoyable experience onsite.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of campsite operations, safety procedures, and environmental stewardship principles
- Personal alcohol licence
- Professional certification, further or higher education in hospitality, leisure, business or other related fields
- Certification or knowledge of swimming pool operation/maintenance
Essential considerations
- This is not a 9-5 job - the expectation will be to work to the business needs which means most of your hours will occur Thursday to Sunday and school holidays.
- You will be expected to muck in and help the staff covering a variety of jobs from bar work, cleaning, shop work and office work.
- You will be required to live on-site or be within a 10 minute drive of site. To be discussed at interview stage.
- This is an immediate start position. Applications needing to give large periods of notice will not be considered.
- This is not advertised as a permanent role. Length of contract will be performance related. We currently envisage 3-6 months in this role but this could extend to 1year+ or a permanent position.
- You must have the right to live and work in the UK and speak fluent English. We do not offer sponsorship.
- This is a family campsite. You must not be barred from working, living or being near children in any capacity.
Pay: £14.00-£18.00 per hour
