Children’s Social Worker – Safeguarding Team

Sanctuary Personnel are currently recruiting for an experienced Children’s Social Worker (Safeguarding) to join a well-structured local authority team in Northallerton. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner looking to work within children’s safeguarding and child protection services, with the added benefit of a capped caseload and hybrid working arrangements.
The Role
As a Children’s Social Worker within the Safeguarding Team, you will manage a complex but supported caseload, working directly with children and families where there are safeguarding concerns. You will undertake statutory social work interventions aimed at reducing risk and improving outcomes for children and young people.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a capped caseload of children in need and child protection cases
- Undertake safeguarding enquiries, assessments, and statutory visits
- Complete and implement child protection and care plans
- Participate in strategy meetings, case conferences, and court proceedings
- Work closely with multi-agency partners including health, education, and police
- Identify risk and ensure timely safeguarding interventions
- Maintain accurate, high-quality case recordings and reports
- Promote positive outcomes for children and families through effective social work practice
Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
- Proven experience in children’s safeguarding and child protection social work
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation including the Children Act 1989/2004
- Experience completing assessments, reports, and statutory social work tasks
- Ability to manage complex cases within a safeguarding framework
- Strong communication, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment
