We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Financial Accounts Controller to oversee and manage the financial operations for Britannia Leatherbarrows and Britannia Legerstar. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and supporting strategic financial planning. Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Prepare, review, and reconcile financial statements using accounting software such as Sage, Xero, and Sage 50 Payroll is essential.
- Oversee the organisation’s bookkeeping processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Monitor cash flow and assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Maintain organised records of all financial documents and transactions for audit purposes.
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
- Support the implementation of new accounting systems or updates to existing software to improve efficiency.
- Provide detailed financial reports to senior management for strategic decision-making.
- Dealing with bad debt accounts, including disposal of goods where required (e.g. eBay sales)
Experience
- Proven experience in financial management or accounting roles
- Demonstrable proficiency with accounting software such as Sage, Xero, Sage 50 Payroll or equivalent systems.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and overall financial operations.
- Experience working with multiple accounting platforms is preferred.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance standards.
- Previous experience in preparing detailed financial reports for management review is advantageous.
