QHSE Officer
Salary: £32,000 - £35,000 per annum
Location: Doncaster
Full Time | Fixed term 12 months

We are looking for a proactive QHSE Officer to join our team and play a key role in supporting our Health, Safety, Environmental and Compliance Management Systems. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in Health & Safety, Compliance, Quality or QHSE administration who enjoys creating structure, maintaining standards and driving actions through to completion.
This role is the engine room of our management system. You will be responsible for maintaining compliance processes, coordinating audits, managing documentation and ensuring corrective actions are tracked and completed. You will work closely with managers and supervisors across the business, helping to ensure we remain compliant, organised and audit ready.
The Role
Reporting to the QHSE Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Maintaining the Health & Safety Management System and associated records.
- Coordinating and tracking corrective actions arising from audits, inspections and incidents.
- Managing document control, ensuring policies, procedures and risk assessments remain current and properly controlled.
- Maintaining training records and the company training matrix.
- Monitoring training compliance and coordinating refresher requirements.
- Supporting internal audit programmes and preparations for external audits and inspections.
- Maintaining incident and near-miss records and supporting investigation follow-up actions.
- Producing KPI and compliance reports, including training compliance, audit findings and incident statistics.
- Monitoring legislative and compliance updates and escalating relevant changes to the QHSE Manager.
- Supporting inductions, toolbox talks and general QHSE initiatives across the business.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
- Experience in a Health & Safety, Compliance, Quality or QHSE administration/coordinator role.
- Heavy focus on administration: Risk Assessments, Standard operating procedures, managing training records and Method Statements (RAMS)
- Incident reporting processes
- COSHH fundamentals
- UK Health & Safety legislation and HSE guidance
- Strong administrative and organisational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence using digital management systems.
- Ability to confidently communicate with managers, supervisors and employees at all levels.
- Experience maintaining training records, action trackers and controlled documentation.
Desirable
- NEBOSH General Certificate or currently working towards qualification.
- Awareness of RIDDOR reporting requirements.
- Experience with ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001 management systems.
- Experience using SharePoint or similar document management systems.
- Exposure to Material Handling Equipment (MHE) environments.
