Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Gardener/Grounds Maintenance operative to maintain a number of private and commercial gardens. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of gardening tasks, including grass cutting, hedge cutting and maintaining flower beds, to ensure that all grounds are kept in pristine condition. This role offers an opportunity to work outdoors in a dynamic environment, applying horticultural knowledge and practical skills to create inviting landscapes.
Responsibilities
- Use hand tools and power tools to prune, trim, and shape plants, shrubs, and trees
- Maintain lawns through mowing, edging, and fertilising
- Assist with planting new flora, including flowers, shrubs, and trees
- Maintaining flower beds using hand cultivator and weed picking
- Ensure grounds are safe and free from hazards by regular inspection and maintenance
- Support seasonal planting and garden redesign projects as required
- Maintain equipment through routine cleaning and minor repairs
Qualifications
- Driving licence preferred but not essential
- Experience in gardening or horticulture is preferred but not essential
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools preferred but not essential
- Growing experience or formal training in landscape maintenance or horticulture is advantageous
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Organised with good attention to detail and safety standards
- Physical fitness to perform manual labour including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Good time keeping and reliable
