An established and quality-focused manufacturing business is seeking a Production Assistant to support its production and supply chain operations. This role sits within a busy production environment and plays a key part in ensuring the smooth coordination of orders, and workflows across internal teams and external suppliers.
The successful candidate will work closely with production coordination teams to manage orders, maintain accurate system data, and support efficient delivery of goods to schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain product codes across internal systems, including ERP and manufacturing platforms.
- Raise and process production orders, ensuring accuracy and timely progression through systems.
- Import, review, and manage production data within internal manufacturing systems.
- Support coordination of production schedules, including raising and monitoring cutting and manufacturing orders.
- Track progress of active production orders and assist in resolving delays or issues.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and packaging.
- Produce weekly reports on materials and production activity, including raising purchase orders where required.
- Generate and distribute regular production and performance reports to internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate shipment bookings and maintain accurate order records within ERP systems.
- Work closely with production teams to prepare materials and orders for manufacturing processes.
- Assist in setting up and releasing production instructions for automated manufacturing equipment.
Skills & Experience
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
- Confident communicator, able to work effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Proactive approach with a willingness to support wider production activities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production or manufacturing environment.
- Competent in Microsoft Excel or similar systems (beneficial but not essential).
Working Hours & Location
- Full-time position based in Gloucester.
- 38¾ hours per week:
- Monday to Thursday: 7:45am – 4:30pm
- Friday: 7:45am – 1:30pm
