This is a full-time seasonal position starting in July, supporting us during our busy season.

Our Seasonal Breakfast Chef role
At Watergate Bay Hotel, breakfast is more than the first meal of the day; it's the first impression of every guest's stay.
As our Seasonal Breakfast Chef, you'll support our CPU kitchen and help kick-start every guest's day with fresh, flavour-packed breakfasts made using the very best of Cornwall's produce. From perfectly cooked classics to beautifully presented plates, you'll take pride in creating memorable mornings, one breakfast at a time.

What you’ll be responsible for
- Preparing, cooking and serving all breakfast menu items to the highest standards.

Preparing for each day's business in line with expected guest numbers.

Completing all breakfast mise en place, including preparing the required quantities of cooked breakfast items ready for service.

Preparing and cooking eggs, porridge and other breakfast dishes to order.

Preparing fresh fruit, compotes, cold meats and buffet items, ensuring an attractive and well-stocked presentation throughout service.

Monitoring food quantities throughout service while minimising waste.

Preparing children's buffet options when required, ensuring variety and balance.

Working closely with our Head Chef and kitchen team to deliver a smooth and efficient breakfast service.

Following all kitchen schedules, completing daily check sheets and temperature records.

Maintaining an organised, clean and safe workplace for yourself and your colleagues.

Supporting the smooth running of the kitchen and back-of-house areas.

Recording all food waste accurately in line with hotel procedures.

Following all food safety, hygiene and health & safety procedures.
What we’re looking for
- A passion for the food industry and elevated guest service
- NVQ Level 1 & 2 (or equivalent) as a minimum
- The ability to remain calm under pressure
- Previous experience within a professional kitchen
- Previous experience preparing breakfast service or a proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
- Passion for great food and locally sourced produce
- A team-player mindset with excellent communication skills
- Professional personal presentation
- Strong attention to detail
- A flexible attitude to working hours and variable shift patterns
