Maypole Pet & Garden Centre is an independent pet store based in Wickham Bishops, specialising in natural dog treats, raw food and high quality kibbles.
Due to a busy summer period, we are looking for someone to join our team!
We are offering a full time position of 5 days per week, to include 4 Weekdays (9am – 5:30pm) and 1 weekend day.
Responsibilities:
- Assist customers in finding the best product/s for their pet.
- Pack goods for online deliveries/Warehouse work.
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations on pet care and nutrition - Training on all products will be provided.
- Book in/price stock deliveries.
- Serve customers using the till - Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately will be required.
- Restock shelves & freezers.
- Keep the shop tidy, hoovering, cleaning shelves etc.
Requirements:
- Able to comfortably lift 25kg repetitively - Assist with putting large feed sack deliveries in to storage containers, packing multiple order for delivery.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Previous retail experience is essential.
- Availability to work 5 days a week, including 1 weekend day and bank holidays.
Please note, this job can be very physically demanding, you will be on your feet, helping unload large & heavy deliveries, as well as carrying goods to/loading customers cars.

- Are you able to lift 20 - 25kg repetitively? We have regular feed deliveries, and can have over 250 bags that will need unloading by hand, and stacking into containers. (You would not be doing this alone).
