We are looking for a Trainee Security Systems Engineer to join our small, established security company based in Washington, West Sussex.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is practical, technically minded and keen to build a long-term career within the security industry.
You do not need to already be a fully qualified alarm engineer. Full training will be provided. However, we are looking for someone who has a genuine interest in technical work and is comfortable using tools, fault-finding and learning new systems.
Previous experience within electrical work, CCTV, telecoms, networking, IT, engineering, automotive electrics or another practical technical role would be a definite advantage.
The role
Working alongside our experienced engineers, you will learn how to:
- Install and service intruder alarm systems
- Install and service CCTV systems
- Diagnose and repair faults
- Program and configure security equipment
- Work with IP networks, routers and connected security devices
- Carry out routine preventative maintenance
- Complete service reports and customer documentation
- Work safely and professionally within customers' homes and businesses
As your knowledge and confidence develop, you will gradually begin attending jobs independently.

Previous security industry experience is welcome but not essential.
Driving licence
A full UK driving licence is essential.
During the initial training period you will work alongside another engineer. A company vehicle will be provided once you are trained, competent and able to carry out work independently.
