About the Family
Arthur's House is delighted to be assisting this warm, welcoming family once again as they look to appoint an experienced Afternoon Nanny / Family Assistant.
Having previously found the family a nanny, we are now helping them secure an additional afternoon nanny to support the next stage of family life. Their eldest son will be starting school in Hampstead this September, their younger son remains at school in Notting Hill, and they have recently welcomed a new baby into the family.
The afternoons are naturally busy, so they are looking for someone calm, proactive and organised who enjoys being an extra pair of hands. This role would suit a nanny who thrives in a team environment and genuinely loves helping family life run smoothly.
The Role
- Support with the afternoon and evening routine, including school pick up homework, reading, play, supper and preparing for bedtime.
- Provide educational support appropriate to each child’s age and stage (e.g. reading practice, spelling, basic numeracy, and project support)
- Support with after-school activities, clubs and playdates: booking/confirming arrangements, escorting to and from activities, and ensuring the children have the correct kit/snacks.
- Organise engaging, age-appropriate activities both at home and outdoors.
- Help prepare school bags, uniforms and sports kits for the following day.
- Stay on top of children's clothing, including organising wardrobes, identifying clothing that has been outgrown and keeping essentials well stocked.
- Offer occasional support with the newborn where helpful. This role is not primarily a baby-focused position.
- Work collaboratively with the parents and existing household staff to ensure afternoons run seamlessly.
The Person
- An experienced nanny with excellent previous references.
- Positive, energetic and genuinely passionate about working with children.
- Calm, organised and proactive, with the ability to anticipate what needs doing.
- Happy working as part of a team alongside household staff.
- Confident managing the logistics of busy family life and multiple school runs.
- Enjoys outdoor play, sports, creative activities and encouraging children's independence.
- A confident London driver with a clean driving licence.
- Reliable, trustworthy and highly discreet.
- Fluent English.
- An enhanced DBS, Paediatric First Aid certificate and the right to work in the UK are essential.
Pay: Up to £30.00 per hour
